Pre-stretched stretch film and non-stretched stretch film each have their merits, but the key difference lies in their elasticity during wrapping. Pre-stretched film is stretched close to its breaking point before being wound onto the roll, eliminating the need for additional energy or manual effort typically required with traditional stretch film.
This unique characteristic allows pre-stretched film to deliver the same high load stability in manual applications as in machine applications. In contrast, traditional stretch film needs to be stretched to around 150% to achieve maximum efficiency. However, manual laborers can typically stretch it only to about 115%, leading to unstable loads and increased product loss.
Pre-stretched film removes this time-consuming step from the packaging process, ensuring proper load stabilization. Since manual workers often cannot apply sufficient stretching force, the stability of goods during transit is far less reliable compared to using pre-stretched film.
Additionally, pre-stretched film exhibits superior film memory compared to traditional manual wrapping. This means the stability provided by pre-stretched film ensures products arrive at their destination in well-maintained packaging and, more importantly, with significantly less damage than when using traditional manual stretch film.
